Puppy chow puppy chow puppy chow puppy chow PUPPY CHOW!!!
Can you tell I’m excited?
Puppy chow-making requires 1) cereal 2) SUGAR 3) PEANUT BUTTER! and 4) CHOCOLATE!!!!!!! so obviously it’s one of my most favorite desserts EVER. Except it’s really hard to health-ify, so I just made it gluten-free for you. (Gluten-free makes everything sound healthier, doesn’t it?) Oh well, what can you do?
You only need four ingredients:
- Barbara’s Multigrain Puffin Cereal
- Chocolate chips
- All-natural peanut butter
- Organic powdered sugar
…and 5 minutes to make this puppy chow so you have NO EXCUSES!!! GO MAKE THIS NOW!!!
- 3 cups Barbara’s Multigrain Puffin Cereal (or you could use Chex Mix)
- 6 Tbsp semisweet chocolate chips
- 3 Tbsp 100% natural peanut butter
- LOTS of powdered sugar (you add this as you go)
Directions: In a medium bowl, melt together the chocolate and the peanut butter (I used a 20-second microwave intervals but you could use a double broiler too). Gently stir in the cereal until evenly coated. Take two quart-sized Ziploc bags and in them place two tablespoons powdered sugar and shake. Once the insides of the bags are dusted with the sugar, divide the cereal mixture between the two bags. Scoop in the cereal along with about 2 tablespoons more of powdered sugar. Shake the bag around until the puppy chow is evenly coated in sugar. Add more powdered sugar if necessary. Note: If you don’t eat it all in a couple days I would freeze this so it doesn’t get soggy.
Yay! That’s it!
