Behold The Green Smoothie:
Be aware that the title isn’t “a green smoothie” or “green smoothie #1” but is The Green Smoothie. That’s because this is probably going to be the only green smoothie recipe that I ever post. Why? Because really, there’s like a billion green smoothie recipes out there. You just throw stuff in a blender and add spinach (or kale). But how many recipes are there for a healthy Nutella Fudge Pie? Like, none.
But I just *had* to post this recipe because it’s sooo much better than all of the green smoothies I’ve made! The flavor is like pineapple-peach lemonade. Can we just say YUM?
By the by, you might want to be watching for a Healthy Nutella Fudge Pie soon.
The Green Smoothie
- 1 cup pineapple (200 g) (I did a half-and-half of fresh and frozen)
- 1/4 cup frozen peaches (40 g)
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (115 g)
- 1 cup spinach
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- Pinch stevia extract, to taste
- Optional but recommended: Juice of 1/4 of a small lime
Directions: In a good blender, blend everything together. Pour into a glass and drink! To clean the blender, I highly recommend this trick. Serves one.
And there’s the nutrition label! I’ll admit it, I was pleasantly surprised. All that flavor and sweetness makes it seem like there’s twice the calories and sugar! But nope, there’s only 210 calories and 2.5 grams of fat, and there’s also 5 grams of fiber and 14 grams of protein to boot! And just LOOK at all those vitamins! This is one healthy smoothie.
Oh yeah, and the blender-cleaning trick mentioned above? I highly recommend it. I’ve probably saved a finger or two using that trick. 🙂
