done close

(Cue the singing!)

Question 2: Are these snowmen hard to make?

Answer: NO!

Question 3: Then why are you still reading this and not making snowmen?

(There is no answer to this question)

Sock Snowmen

You will need:

you will need

  • Sock in color of choice (preferably a used/ugly sock, because how many times do you get to say you wore a stuffed animal?)
  • Fleece/felt in color of choice
  • Stuffing!
  • Scissors
  • Needle
  • Thread in color matching sock
  • Not pictured: embroidery floss, felt marker, or buttons (for the eyes)

Take your sock and stuff the bottom will a large ball of stuffing. This will become the butt of the snowman.

step 1

Thread your needle and sew a running stitch all around the top of the ball.

step 2

Cinch the thread as tight as you can and knot it off.

Repeat this two more times, stuffing the sock with gradually smaller balls of stuffing.

Trim the remaining sock off the top. Re-thread your needle and sew the top of the head shut.

Sew eyes on the head using method of choice. I used two french-knots. If you use something involving stitching, make sure the knots are on the neck (you will see why).

Cut a long, skinny strip out of your fleece or fabric. Tie it around the snowman’s neck to become a scarf.

You are done!

Did you see how easy that was? It takes like 5 minutes to make this! These snowmen make perfect decorations for the winter or little gifts. Go make them now!

(This snowman was approved by Olaf)
